Imagine the volume, if we were to hear all of our voices at once.
I haven't been sleeping well. When I lie down at night I feel like there are 8 shots of espresso coursing through my veins, when, in reality, my anxiety has made me cut down my coffee consumption to half a sorry little cup in the mornings. Right now I'm drinking herbal tea. Fuck 2020. I don't need to tell you how tough this year has been, or how big of a deal today is, or how 'just because she carries it well, doesn't mean it isn't heavy'. That last one is my personal motto. This year has thrown my family so many curveballs, I'm left wondering how the pitcher hasn't hurt his arm. My therapist reminded me yesterday that 30 minutes/day of self care is necessary. Not ideal, not a great goal, necessary. Meditation is a method of self care I am exploring, to find calm, to practice living in the now and not in the land of "what if" - of which I am queen. Here are 5 of my favorite guided meditations/apps, I hope they help you find some calm. 1) Guided Meditation for Anxiety & Stress: FREE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vO1wPAmiMQ&t=1568s 2) Headspace.com - App for android/iphone. There's a free trial, then it's $12.99/month. 3) Calm - app for android/iphone. There's a free trial, then $70/year. Bonus - Matthew McConaughey reads one of the sleep stories. Lucid dreaming anyone? 4) Smiling Mind - app for android/iphone.
